Why is the organisation called Useful Training?
As well as being skilled trainers and facilitators, all our trainers are subject-experts. Each trainer is subject-focused and incorporates leading-edge thinking into their training practice. We believe this makes our training much more useful than the norm. We do not use generic trainers who cover a variety of subjects but specialise in none.
Where are the training venues?
Our open training events are held in the city centres of London, Birmingham and Manchester. Please check your joining instructions for the venue address. More specialised courses are held in London.
How do I book a course?
Go to the Training Events page - click on the book now button and complete the internet application form.
Can I book a course using a paper booking form?
Please email us at office@usefultraininggroup.com and we will email you a paper booking form. This can be posted, faxed or emailed to our office.
Will the course meet my training needs?

Who do I contact about special access needs?
If you have special access needs (for example, you need disabled parking, BSL interpretation or lift access to the training rooms) please note this next to the delegate's name on the booking form.
When will I receive joining instructions?
Subject to availability, confirmation and joining instructions will be emailed to you within 48 hours (two working days) of the receipt of your booking. This will include the course programme, venue directions and a map.
What are the start and finish times?
Unless otherwise stated in the joining instructions, training events run from 09.30 - 16.30. It is important that your travel arrangements enable you to commit to these hours.
When will I receive an invoice?
Training bookings are invoiced one month in advance, or immediately after a booking if the event is within one month. Payment terms are 30 days from date of invoice. If you are booking many months in advance and require an immediate invoice please inform us at office@usefultraininggroup.com
Can you recommend a good hotel near the training venue?
Our experience is that delegates look for different things in a hotel or guest house. We recommend that you look at Trip Advisor. Enter the city and dates. On the left there is a slider to adjust the price range according to your budget.
Will I receive a certificate?
Yes, all delegates receive a Useful Training certificate.
Will I receive a copy of the course notes?
All delegates receive a copy of the materials used throughout the delivery of the course. Please note that the copyright of the course is owned by the course trainer. Delegates are only entitled to copy course handouts for their own use.
Are refreshments provided?
Refreshments including tea, coffee and biscuits are provided when you arrive, and also during the morning and afternoon breaks.
Is lunch provided?
Unless indicated otherwise in your joining instructions, lunch is not provided. Our venues are central and close to a variety of cafes, restaurants and other outlets, so people can find something to meet their personal preference.
Will I have the opportunity to network with other delegates?
Throughout our training we encourage delegates to mix, to share ideas and discuss best practice.
Do you offer discounts for charities or small organisations?
We do not offer any special reductions based on organisation type. All our training delegates are from charities, NGOs or other not-for-profit organisations. The cost of the course is the same for all services.
Do you monitor the quality of training?
At the end of a course each delegate is asked to complete an evaluation form. This feedback is considered by the Training Manager and used to make any improvements that may be required. Also, each month we contact a sample of delegates and check how the training is benefitting their individual work and that of their service.
Can your training courses be delivered in-house?
Our courses can be delivered at your offices or at a venue of your choice. Please refer to the the In-house Training page.
How do I arrange for a colleague to attend in my place?
If you wish to the change the delegate please email office@usefultraininggroup.com before the training event. Please state your organisation, course and delegate name(s) for the original booking and the new name(s). The first substitution is free. Subsequent substitutions incur an administrative charge of £30.
How do I transfer my booking to another date and what are the terms?
